A leaf spring is used for the suspension of wheeled vehicles, more specifically commercial vehicles, such as vans, pickups, trucks and trailers. They can help the vehicle to support heavier loads, helping the wheels, axles and the chassis to carry the extra weight.
The leaf spring was designed so that the vehicle could support extra weight without getting damaged. There are several leaf spring designs, including mono leaf springs and multi leaf springs, with a range of shapes to choose from also:
- Semi Elliptical
- Quarter Elliptical
- Three-Quarter Elliptical
