Find your spring tool and spring enquiries

Looking up your vehicle. When you use our “Find your spring” tool, the registration number you enter is sent to the DVSA MOT History service to find your vehicle’s make, model and year. We keep the result on our website for 24 hours so we don’t have to look it up again, then it is deleted.

Asking us for a recommendation. If you ask us to email you a recommendation, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), what your vehicle is used for, the problem you have, and anything else you tell us, together with your registration and the vehicle details from the lookup. We use this only to reply to you about your vehicle. We don’t use it for marketing and we don’t share it with anyone else. Our lawful basis is that you have asked us for advice before buying (steps taken at your request before entering into a contract).

How long we keep it.

  • The enquiry email we receive is deleted from our inbox within a month.
  • The copy saved on our website has your name, email address, phone number and message deleted automatically 12 months after you send it.
  • We keep the vehicle details, your answers and the spring we recommended, with nothing that identifies you, to help us improve our recommendations.

Emails about your enquiry are sent through our website and our email provider.
